Where creativity becomes connection, collaboration and opportunity.

FLORIE + ESSENCE

The essence of becoming.

Floriescence carries its founder's name and the idea of flourishing. It is about the stage where something starts to open: an idea becoming a practice, a practice becoming work, work finding the people it was made for.

Creativity is rarely a finished product. It is discovery, experimentation, revision and collaboration. We build for every part of that process.

Our approach

Five stages. Enter anywhere.

An artist's journey is not a straight line, so the ecosystem is built to meet people where they are.

  1. Discover

Find Floriescence at an Artists for Artists gathering, an event, or online, and meet people who make things too.

A first gathering, a conversation, a new collaborator

  2. Develop

Build your practice through workshops, shared knowledge and guidance from artists further along.

    Workshops, peer learning, mentorship

  3. Create

Make original work with collaborators across music, film, photography, design and performance.

    Collaborations, sessions, production

  4. Be Seen

Share the work through showcases, events, features and media.

    Showcases, screenings, artist features

  5. Advance

Take the next step: paid projects, partnerships and independent growth on your own terms.

    Professional projects and opportunities

Every stage has value on its own. Taking part in the community is never a promise of representation, deals or jobs, and nobody is expected to give professional work away for free.

Create Within

Creative identity, confidence and getting past blocks.

Who am I as a creative, and what do I want to express?

Create Together

Relationships, skill exchange and collaboration.

Who can I learn from and create alongside?

Create in Public

Visibility, presentation and audience.

How can I share my work in ways that open doors?

The ecosystem

One company. Connected parts.

Each part of Floriescence can stand on its own while sharing one purpose. Here's what is live now and what is taking shape.

Our story

She stopped waiting for the perfect team and started building.

Floriescence was founded by Florie Naomi, a Nigerian American singer songwriter, creative director and media strategist in St. Louis. Her work has never fit inside one discipline. It moves across music, performance, photography, storytelling, marketing and community.

For years she pursued projects with others and learned how hard it is to build together when priorities and resources don't line up. She realized she already had the skills to lay the foundation herself, so she began. Artists for Artists grew from the same place: a belief that artists should get to grow without having to build everything alone.

“As a multidisciplinary artist, I've seen how art and identity shape the way we lead, learn and connect. Floriescence was born from a desire to merge creativity with impact.”

Mission

To empower creative expression and development by connecting artists, communities and organizations through storytelling, collaboration, artistic experiences, education and creative media.

Vision

An interconnected creative ecosystem where talent is discovered, nurtured, produced, celebrated and connected to sustainable opportunity, starting in St. Louis and reaching beyond it.

What we value

Creative expression

Every person has a perspective worth exploring.

Cultural identity

Informed by a Nigerian and African diasporic perspective, open to every background.

Collaboration

Great work grows from exchanging ideas and skills.

Access and opportunity

Talent is everywhere. Resources are not. We work on that gap.

Ownership and respect

Artists are credited properly and treated fairly.

Sustainability

Lasting careers need skills, systems and real opportunities, not only motivation.

Artists for Artists STL

Artists shouldn't have to create alone. A4A is our multidisciplinary community where artists connect, share their journeys, learn from each other and make work together.
